In the little time I have spent on this earth, I have learnt several things that have shaped my life. As I celebrate my birthday, I will want to share with you 24 most important of them.
It may interest you to know that most of these lessons were from my personal experience. Some I was told before experiencing it, others I experience it and wrote them down. I have meticulously kept these lessons so that you can at least learn of it or receive encouragement. Most of these lessons were learnt in a hard way while others were through sweet experiences. I believe you will also learn from at least one of these lessons. #24 The most important thing in this world are not things. The best way to get enough of the things you want is to help enough people get what they want. People who place more value and create more time building relationship than they do acquiring things tends to live happier and probably longer.
Lesson #23 The “ideal” is only realistic in one’s imagination. In most cases what is obtainable is not what ought to be. Life does not give you what you deserve but what you demand.
Lesson #22 The best way to prevent regret of actions is to first of all develop godly principles and stick to them no matter what. Note that a high level of discipline is required. It is safer to make wise decision when your head is calm so as to avoid making wrong choice when your head is not.
Lesson #21 Life is all about sowing and reaping, you are at present either sowing into the future or reaping from what you have sown into the past.
Lesson #20 It is easier to say a thing than to do it. Talk is cheap. Empty cans make the loudest noise.
Lesson #19 An imperfect action is better than thousands of beautiful ideas. The world is not controlled by people with just ideas, but by those who dare to translate their ideas into action not minding the obstacles.
Lesson #18 Men are products of their actions and inaction. You are what you are today because of what you did or refuse to do yesterday.
Lesson #17 You are either equal or less than your imagination. You cannot be greater than what you can conceive in your mind. If I can’t conceive it, I can’t be it.
Lesson #16 I cannot change many things to fit me but I can change myself to fit many things. Life is 1% what happen to me and 99% how I respond to it.
Lesson #15 One of the best ways to avoid disappointment is to keep your expectations from people low and keep your output high. Always expect less than you give out.
