Read the previous part here HOW TO BE SENSITIVE There are several ways to open your eyes to business opportunities around you. I will just mention two: First, listen to people's complaints. SENSITIVITY I am an agribusiness expert. I have an unquenchable passion for making food available and affordable to everyone. Through the years, I've had several people come to ask me for business ideas they can start in agriculture. The problem with the request is that most of the times, it is not the business idea … Continue reading THE MAKING OF A SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR – Part 3
As an Agribusiness expert, I've been asked several times of the opportunities that are in this sector for the elites. The answer is always simple; if you must make fortune through agriculture, you will have to look beyond now. You need to understand the trend and try to forecast what will happen to the sector in the next five to ten years and even 50. While I may not be able to tell you all the changes that will take place in the African food system, I can authoritatively say, the future of agriculture in Africa is not going to be cutlass and hoe. That era is fast fading away. We are in the era of information, and knowledge is going to play a pivotal role in this critical sector.
Several things make you a successful entrepreneur. If you do a Google search on this, you will find thousands of blogs, articles and recommendations from different entrepreneurs across the globe. That's because teachers are well-respected in the village, as they are seen as custodians of a kind of knowledge that is not common - they can read, write and speak English fluently. The villagers hold these things in high esteem. In fact, whatsoever the teacher says is likely to be correct.

Made, Not Born Entrepreneurs are born, but successful ones are made. What do I mean? Every one born of a woman is a potential entrepreneur, but not everyone becomes a successful entrepreneur. Let me put it in another way: there isn't a thing as entrepreneurship gene. Even if there is at all, if anyone has … Continue reading THE MAKING OF A SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR – Part 1
By Jonah Sunday I Don't Have A Potbelly. I'm sure you know a few people who have potbellies. I don't know if you like them, but I am not really a fan of potbelly, and I'll ensure I don't have one for few reasons. One, I don't know if my wife would love a man … Continue reading WHY YOU SHOULD BE A WRITER
Welcome to the fourth part of the "Unfortunate Sailor's" series. In part two and three we talked about how you can identify wasters in your life, career, and business. Today we will talk about what not to do with the wasters after recognizing them. One thing you should not do with the wasters is to try to accommodate them, change them or even struggle to move forward with them. It will be a futile effort.
In my previous post, I talked about how to keep Jonahs (wasters) away from your life, in order to avoid needless pain(s). However, that is only necessary for those who are not having Jonahs in their lives already. What if there's a Jonah in your ship now; what would you do? Let's take a look … Continue reading IDENTIFYING THE JONAH(S)
